Bavaria`s big step forward

Effective tomorrow, May 6, Bavaria ends its “Ausgangsbeschränkungen” (Restrictions on going outside” and institues “Kontaktbeschränkungen“ (Contact limitations). We can now be with one person outside our household and have contact with direct relatives. Playgrounds will also be opened. Hospitals and nursing homes will allow their patients/residents contact with one outside person, with strict hygiene regulations.

Starting May 11, all stores can reopen their entire space, with the contact rules in place. Also, zoos, botanical gardens, museums, libraries, galleries, exhibitions, and memorials can reopen. (20 square meters person, with masks, etc).

On May 18, outdoor dining can restart – BEER GARDENS!!! (Only until 8 PM). Then on May 25, restaurants can reopen, but only every second table and service personnel must wear masks. Hotels, campgrounds, and holiday apartments can reopen on May 30, but saunas and swimming pools cannot yet be utilized.

Schools, kindergartens, childcare, and nurseries are a bit complicated, but slowly they will be reopened over the next few weeks, step-by-step.
