The voting is over and the official Oktoberfest motif has been chosen! The first-place winner, Dirk Lippmann, receives 2,500 Euro for his prize and his image will be printed on the official 2018 souvenirs and used around the world in Oktoberfest marketing campaigns.
Since 1952, the city of Munich has operated this contest to pick the annual motif. From 184 entries, 60 were selected for public voting. The top 30 from those are then shown to a qualified jury and then the top pick is select. The second-place winner, Florian Beierlein, took home € 1,250 in prize money while the third place winner received € 500. My personal favorite was actually the second-place winner!
