2011 Oktoberfest Motif

Oktoberfest Poster Chosen for 2011

Since 1951 the City of Munich has invited artists to compete for the honor for their design to be used for all the posters, promotions and souvenirs at the upcoming Oktoberfest. In this year’s contest, 18 proposals were received from 11 participants. All are from Germany.  Prize money is awarded as follows: 1 Place = 2,500 Euro, 2 Place 1,250 Euro and 3 Place 500 Euro.

This year’s jury chose a design from Wolfgang Heinrich Haas, A student at the Design School since 2008. His design depicts an image reminiscent of a cross-stitch. During the selection process the jury had no knowledge who the artist was or what school he’s from.
